Think-Pair-Share

1. Think:

   • Individually, students will spend 3-5 minutes thinking about and jotting down answers to the following questions:
     • What factors are important to consider when choosing a place to stay for a vacation?
     • What amenities might be important for a comfortable stay?
     • How does the location of a place affect your vacation experience?

2. Pair:

   • Students will pair up and discuss their answers with a partner for about 5 minutes. They should compare their lists and note any similarities or differences.

3. Share:

   • Each pair will share their ideas with the class. The teacher will write down key points on the board.

Instructions: Watch this video on travel accommodations, such as hotels and Airbnb, and answer the questions. Then, read the script at the bottom of the page.

Hi, I’m Randall, and I’m here with Oddie (Odin), our grandson, and we’re in a place in San Diego. Uh, and one of the things I think you need to keep in mind when you find a place to stay is location.  We’re only a few blocks from the beach. That’s great. Of course, price. What you can afford and what you can pay are another thing.

And the final thing is amenities. Uh, what does the place have? Does it have a washer and dryer? Does it have different bathrooms? Does it have enough sleeping quarters? So keeping these things in mind will help you have a great vacation.
