What form of communication do you use most in these situations (face-to-face discussion, video conferencing such as Skype, cell phone, texting, a handwritten letter, or a verbal message sent through a friend).
- telling your boss you are sick and can’t go to work one day
- breaking up with a girlfriend or boyfriend
- asking someone out on a date
- telling your mom you will be late for dinner
- informing a friend you bought a new computer
- wishing someone a happy birthday
- letting your teacher know you are going to be late for class
Hi, I’m Randall, and in today’s world, we often think about communication, how to communicate the most efficient way, and the most efficient way is not always the most effective.
In other words, if I’m concerned about sharing my feelings with other people . . . body language is important, then I’ll talk to them face-to-face. If I don’t have that option, then I might, for example, use video conferencing or Skype.
But if I just want something that is quick and effective, I might just text, and uh, then, I can share with them a quick message that way.
Or, well, I might just give them a call. That’s all for now.
